1 lb hot sausage at room temperature
½ tsp sage
8 oz sharp cheddar cheese; grated
½ tsp red pepper or tabasco; optional
3 cups Bisquick
Enough cold water to make a stiff dough

Mix everything together. Form into balls (big or small). Bake on an ungreased sheet 12-15 minutes at 350°. Freezes well. Can be reheated at the time of serving. Stick in toothpicks to use as appetizers.
