1¾ cups flour
1 tsp soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup sugar
2 tbsp milk
Chocolate candy kisses
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup Crisco
½ cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
Cream shortening, peanut butter, and sugar. Add egg and beat. Add all dry ingredients and milk. Shape dough into balls. Roll in sugar if desired. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 375° for 10-12 minutes or lightly brown. Remove and top each cookie immediately with a chocolate kiss and press down until edges crack like a blossom.
