1½ cup brown sugar
2 tbsp flour
Pinch salt
1 tsp vanilla
1½ cup water
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp oleo

Separate eggs. Put whites in a squeaky clean glass bowl to become room temperature. Heat water. Mix flour, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a pan. Stir in hot water slowly. Add beaten egg yolks. Cook until thick. Take off heat. Add vanilla and oleo. Cool. Put in baked 9″ pie shell. Cover with meringue. 325° for 10 minutes.
