1 tsp sage
Salt & pepper
Ground red hot pepper
1 lb ground beef
3 potatoes; peeled and sliced ¾” thick
Mix together and form into patties (size of potato). Brown lightly in a skillet or dutch oven. Remove and make gravy: pour off all but 1 tbsp fat. Add 1 tbsp flour; 1½ cup water and ¼ tsp salt. When thick, place potatoes in gravy. Place a meat patty on each potato piece. Cover and cook 30-45 minutes very slowly until potatoes are done. (We ate this a lot at the store.)
