2 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ cup brown sugar
1 egg
Pinch salt
1 tsp soda
½ cup sugar
½ cup melted oleo
½ cup nuts
1 cup canned applesauce

Beat together oleo and sugar. Add egg and blend well. Stir in flour, soda, salt, and cinnamon alternately with applesauce. Stir in nuts. Turn into a 9″ square pan greased and floured (9×11 is better). Bake 350° for 30-35 minutes. Cool slightly and glaze.

In a saucepan stir together ½ cup sugar; 2 tbsp cornstarch; ¼ tsp cinnamon. Add ½ cup applesauce and ½ cup water and 1 tsp lemon juice. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until thick. Cool slightly and glaze cake.
