1 cup sugar
1½ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup chopped pecans
½ cup Crisco
½ cup milk
Grated rind of 1 lemon
2 eggs
Grease and flour loaf pan. Cream shortening, eggs, and sugar. Beat until creamy. Add sifted dry ingredients, milk, pecans, and lemon rind. Beat until well blended. Pour into the loaf pan. Bake 350° for 45 minutes.
Glaze: ½ cup sugar, juice of one lemon mixed together. Pour over hot loaf.
